EXAGGERATOR STICKS WITH IT AND WINS PREAKNESS STAKES…
AND IF YOU WERE ONE OF THOSE WHO STUCK WITH ME
YOU CASHED THE PREAKNESS WINNER, EXACTA & TRIFECTA
I e-mailed you prior to the Preakness Stakes and told you that after HITTING THE KENTUCKY DERBY WINNER, EXACTA & TRIFECTA…
Nyquist – WIN $6.60
Exaggerator – 2nd Exacta $30.60
Gun Runner – 3rd Trifecta $173.40
…I had seen everything I needed to see and after following the post-Derby preparations, the works of the fresh shooters and their past performances and how horses would run over a projected wet track, I WOULD REPEAT MY WINNING WAYS IN THE PREAKNESS – AND I DID!
Exaggerator – WIN $7.20
Cherry Wine – 2nd Exacta $88.40
Nyquist – 3rd Trifecta $146.20
Please don’t think I am bragging. I just want you to know that this was NOT A ONE TIME SHOT.
As good as these results were, this is what I DO FULL TIME. When I tell you (what many of you who played now know) that I can deliver when I tell you I’ll win I want you to BE CONFIDENT. I know you bet hard earned money. I know you take winning seriously. WELL SO DO I and the Kentucky Derby and Preakness which introduced us is just the beginning.
I knew that it wasn’t just a wet track that propelled Exaggerator. In each of his last 4 races he had moved forward in speed numbers, aggression and maturity. I watched the Kentucky Derby replay a hundred times and I knew that he overcame a number of challenges to get the place…and in my opinion ran the best Derby of any horse and was sitting on his biggest race.
While I knew Nyquist would be asked to go faster earlier than he had in any of his 8 previous wins and that would be the “switch point” between him and Exaggerator: I also knew that Derby experience means everything and just because he wouldn’t win didn’t mean he wasn’t a must use in the exotics…and in fact he put away three speed horses and was just nabbed by Cherry Wine for second.
And speaking of Cherry Wine, this was a colt that I would have used had he gotten off the AE list and into the Kentucky Derby. In constructing the supporting role contenders in Triple Crown races it is essential to find the third, fourth or fifth favorites who are ultra-consistent even if they aren’t necessarily win candidates. Cherry Wine’s works in between the Blue Grass Stakes sharp rally for third and the Preakness were strong. Add in his MSW 9 length win as a juvenile in the slop at CD and there was a lot to go on.TO REPEAT…WE HAVE PLENTY MORE WINNING TO DO TOGETHER
